Membership Levels

The Homer Chamber of Commerce membership year runs from October 1st to September 30th and offers a number of membership levels that provide benefits to the member as follows:

Primary Business - An individual who physically resides in or a business physically located in the greater Homer area, including Anchor Point and the communities on the south side of Kachemak Bay. This category also includes business who are not physically located and/or operating in Homer, but which are accessed primarily through Homer. Primary members are entitled to benefits as defined by Chamber Board Policy.

  • None

 

Multi-Business Level - A secondary business with the same owner as a current Primary Business or Associate Business member (main business). Receives all member benefits associated with the class of membership of the main business except has no voting rights. The secondary business of a Multi-Business Member must be the same employee size or smaller than the Primary Business. The fee for the membership is one-half the regular member fee for a business that size.

Associate Business Level - A business not qualifying for Primary membership and not physically operating in Homer, but which offers Greater Homer area residents a service that is not offered by local Homer businesses. Associate members enjoy such benefits as defined by Chamber Board Policy.

Reciprocal - Organization with which the Board of Directors agrees to trade annual non-voting membership, such as statewide visitor centers.

Benefits:
  • Voting Rights: No
  • Chambers and Visitor Centers on the Kenai Peninsula are listed under "Peninsula Neighbors" on the Homer Chamber of Commerce Website
  • Free exchange of visitor information and guides between Homer Chamber and Visitor Center & Reciprocal Member
  • Invitations to luncheons, mixers, political and legislative forums and other chamber events
  • Monthly newsletter

Honorary - Any person who has rendered a significant service to the community may be designated as an honorary member by a unanimous vote of the Board. Honorary members are entitled to vote and are exempt from all dues and assessments. Honorary membership may be revoked by unanimous vote of the Board.

Suggested for the businesses wishing to demonstrate a strong commitment to the Chamber and the well - being of Homer. Additional benefits of Gold Membership include front business listing in the monthly Newsletter, special Gold Member name tags at Mixers, and a business listing on the Chamber web site.
