Guidelines include: No open bed truck floats with kids for safety purposes, and no firearms, real or toy. If you would like to hand out candy, please do not throw it from the float but have someone walk alongside the float to hand it out. This is to prevent children from running to pick it up in the street.
Be at Homer High School Parking lot no later than 4:30 PM on Wednesday, July 4 to check in and line up. The Parade will go down Pioneer Avenue and ends at the parking lot behind the old Homer Middle School on Woodside Avenue. You can pick up parade participants at the end of the Parade in this parking lot. The Department of Transportation restricts passengers riding in an open truck bed or flatbed on public highways, so do not enter Sterling Highway off Pioneer Ave.
This intent of the 4th of July Parade is to be family oriented and not a platform for political opinions or personal viewpoints. Such narratives will be disqualified. The Chamber reserves the right to accept or not accept any parade application.
