2nd Annual Let It Glow
A Holiday Lights Festival!
A team of local non-profits has joined together to sponsor the second annual “Let It Glow” holiday lights campaign and contest.
Co-sponsored by Homer Chamber of Commerce, Homer Electric Association, and South Peninsula Hospital, this event promotes neighborhood holiday activity, creates fun for families and individuals of all ages, and brings light and joy to the Southern Peninsula during the darkest days of the year.
The lighting campaign and contest kick off on Thursday, December 1st at the Homer Chamber of Commerce’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting event, and runs through the month of December.
Private residences, businesses, and neighborhoods are encouraged to decorate their homes and neighborhoods with holiday lights.
Prizes will be awarded in the following three categories:
- SPH Long Term Care Residents’ Favorite: Wins $100 in Homer Bucks
- Best Business/Non-Profit: Wins $100 in Homer Bucks
- Best Private Residence: Wins $100 in Homer Bucks
Judging will happen December 19-24 through an online survey that will be available at HomerAlaska.org and our Facebook Event, "2nd Annual Let It Glow."
Any location on the Southern Peninsula is eligible to win, and all are encouraged to use the Facebook page as a place to post photos of must-see locations. Contestants and fans who do not have Facebook can submit their location for consideration via the email email@example.com
Winners will receive prizes of $100 Homer Bucks each which will be announced during the annual New Year’s Eve fireworks show.
