Homer Garden Club's 13th Annual Gardeners' Weekend
The 13th annual Gardeners' Weekend, sponsored by the Homer Garden Club, is Saturday, July 27th and Sunday, July 28th. This year's much anticipated events will include an engaging keynote speaker, access to some of the most beautiful and unique gardens Homer has to offer.
The weekend's keynote speaker is the personable and knowledgeable Fergus Garrett, head gardener at Great Dixter, a historic home whose garden is a place of pilgrimage for horticulturists from across the world. He will speak at 7:00 P.M., Saturday July 27th at Islands and Ocean Visitor Center. The theme is Succession Planting in the Mixed Border.
Sunday, July 28th, from 10 am until 5 pm, five beautiful gardens, selected to offer the full expression of gardening possibilities found in and around Homer will be part of this year’s tours. They will include a large hillside rock garden, a charming township garden, whimsical artistic architecture, perennial displays, and flourishing vegetable gardens. This relaxing day of touring gardens.
